I hope you all like the new layout. For some computer users the “latest vids and images” may be weird but I’ll work on fixing that. Also if you remember a while back I asked if anyone would be interested in helping me with quotes and for those who did you’re hard wore will pay off *see the featured quote in the side bar* but I still do need more help on that. So for those interested in helping me please email me at gbtrd@yahoo.com

One Tree Hill – 5th Season Set Formally Announced: DVD Date, Cost, Specs & Extras!

Two weeks ago we reported that Amazon.com had begun taking pre-orders for One Tree Hill – The Complete 5th Season on DVD (see the link below), even though the studio had not announced the title just yet. As a result, Amazon didn’t have a street date at the time, but this morning Warner Home Video made it official by formally announcing this 5-disc package, and giving a street date of August 26th. Here’s their description, followed by more details:

Hello again! Four-and-a-half years after the searing and surprising events that marked their final days at Tree Hill High, old friends return to their North Carolina hometown. Some of them reached the goals they set as teens: Lucas published his novel, Brooke rocked the fashion world as an acclaimed couturi??re and Haley became the teacher she always yearned to be. Some didn’t: Peyton crashed and burned in L.A., and Nathan saw his promise of pro hoops glory evaporate in a single, violent moment. But once they’re back home in this involving 5-Disc, 18-Episode Season Five Set, everyone discovers so much is the same: love, friendship, challenges, triumphs, laughs, tears…and dreams. As Lucas says, it’s just the beginning.

Just as Amazon had said in their listing, the list price is $59.98 SRP, but you can pre-order it as of this writing for just $38.99. Running time is 810 minutes, with video in anamorphic widescreen and audio in English – Dolby Surround 5.1. Subtitles are going to be in English, French and Spanish. Here is a list of the various bonus material included:

* Unaired Scenes
* “One Tree Hill Fast Forward”: Show Creators and Cast Share Their Excitement in Moving the Storyline Four Years Later in the Characters’ Lives
* “One Tree Hill at 100″: Commemorating the 100th Episode Milestone
* “One Tree Hill Musical Stars”: Guest Stars Kevin Federline and Kate Voegele at Work Behind the Scenes on Set and Making Music
* Commentary on 2 Episodes by Series Creator Mark Schwahn, and Key Cast and Crew
* Gag Reel
* Plus a bonus offer for a Digital Copy of the entire season!

If the bottom-most item sounds familiar to some of you, then you are possibly also fans of Supernatural as well. Warner recently announced that their Sept. 2nd release of Supernatural – The Complete 3rd Season would be the first TV-DVD season set to include a bonus Digital Copy of the entire season’s worth of episodes. The second one will be One Tree Hill – The Complete 5th Season on DVD. We’ve learned that these digital copies on both Supernatural and One Tree Hill will not be “on-disc” copies, however…there’s not enough room on the discs to store them! So they will be provided via download, similar to a method Warner used to call “e-copy” in the past, and available in either Windows Media (PC) or in iTunes (Mac) versions. It’s an easy way to get “digital file” copies of the feature that’s on the DVD, downloaded to your computer or your compatible media player (such as a video iPod, or an Archos) at no additional charge. Hooray!

We’re still waiting on package art for this set, but stay tuned and we’ll bring it to you just as soon as we get it!

About the tag board

First of all I don’t ban people from the site for talking about couples on the tag board, I ban them from the tag board. I ask you to not talk about BL vs LP. Because no matter who you talk about or what you say it will offend someone and I want people to be able to come to this site without worrying that their favorite couple is being bashed. (we have forums, you can talk about anything there, go for it)

There are plenty of other things to talk about other than which couple is better. And this whole ‘it’s America we can say what we want’. Yeah you can say what you want, but that doesn’t mean I can’t delete it or ban you from the tagboard. This used to not be a problem until a handful of you started yelling at each other about the couples on the tag board. So want someone to blame, blame them. For those who have been supportive of this move thank you so much, I have appreciated it.

About the suggestion box. I have been really behind on the suggestion box so I am deleting all the suggestions and starting fresh. I want to spend the summer before season 6 correcting any clips that may not work or pages that don’t work. So if you come about any please tell me in the suggestion box and I will try to fix it THAT DAY.

Much love, Tonya

P.S. Want a new layout for season 6? Let me know? leave a comment ;)

One Tree Hill doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to introducing memorable new characters. Chances are you’ve already forgotten about such season 5 non-entities as Mia, Owen, K-Fed, and Mouth’s ridiculously annoying boss. You’re also probably longing to push characters like Lindsey and Quentin from your mind, but the show insists on bringing them back and giving them storylines. For every great new character that arrives on One Tree Hill, there seem to be five more that show up for a few episodes, make zero impact, and then disappear forever.

Fantastic new characters are hard to come by, which is why I have to give praise to one of the most lovable, adorable additions in the history of the series: Jamie Scott.

Though it may sound like blasphemy to some, I’m really not a big fan of children in general. I’m the type of selfish individual who likes saving money, sleeping in, and having lots of quiet time, so generally I don’t mix well with kids. Due to my desire to avoid most of the little ones, I’m also rarely wooed by the precocious tykes that appear on TV and in the movies. They always come across like annoying know-it-alls who inevitably melt the hearts of the people around them. It activates my gag reflex every time.

With my notorious aversion to the kiddies, I certainly didn’t expect to enjoy the character of Jamie Scott, played by Jackson Brundage, when he first appeared this season. Yet, despite my evil nature, he won me over from the start. I felt warm inside when the Ravens practically adopted him, became oddly moved when Nathan (James Lafferty) helped him with his go-kart, and laughed heartily when he had nightmares about Vampire Dan.

However, none of these things can compare to what Jamie has been up to in the past two episodes. In “Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace,” he actually brought a fluffy, adorable bunny to class for show and tell. This was some sort of supreme explosion of cuteness that morphed into a Care Bear Stare aimed straight at my heart. Then, in last night’s episode, Jamie performed a rap with one of my most hated characters, Quentin. The beats he threw down were so irresistible that he even made me stop loathing Quentin for about 90 seconds.

It’s not just that Jamie’s adorable, which he is, but he’s also completely innocent. His attempts to understand the fractures in his parents’ marriage, or why he’s not supposed to like his grandpa, have made for some of the more moving moments this season. His struggles prove that not everything on this show is about whether Peyton (Hilarie Burton) ends up with Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) or what evil scheme Dan will try next. He’s the beating heart of Tree Hill, and a symbol of how important it is for all of the characters to lead upstanding lives.

Jamie Scott has turned me into one of those annoying guys in the movies whose tough shell dissolves after he spends time with an adorable child. If it can happen to me, then maybe Dan (Paul Johansson) really has changed for the sake of his grandson. Jamie can melt even the coldest of hearts.

Is ‘Desperate Housewives’ Ripping Off ‘One Tree Hill’?

Last night’s season 4 finale of Desperate Housewives ended with the show jumping forward five years into the future. It’s a tricky move for a TV show to make, but by now, enough shows have done it that there is a precedent. Though it’s impossible to tell whether the move will be good or bad based on the few seconds we saw last night, Desperate Housewives would be wise to look at how other shows have made this jump for research.

While the one year leap at the end of Battlestar Galactica’s second season or the two missing years from the end of the second season of Alias are comparable, the fact is that Desperate Housewives is essentially copying exactly what One Tree Hill just did this season.

At the start of One Tree Hill’s fifth season, the show jumped 4 years, 6 months and 2 days into the future. Not only is this close to the five years of Desperate Housewives, but many of the apparent storylines will be similar.
