Robert Buckley signing autographs for fans

“One Tree Hill” characters are always getting into trouble with the law.

Bar fights, kidnappings and even murders have been committed during the show’s seven seasons.

But this weekend seven cast members of the made-in-Wilmington CW drama put a little distance between television and real life.

James Lafferty, Shantel VanSanten, Jackson Brundage, Rob Buckley, Cullen Moss, Vaughan Wilson and Mitch Ryan arrived at noon at the Walmart on Sigmon Road in Wilmington to sign autographs and help raise money for the Wilmington police department’s Officer Down Memorial Wall Project.”

  • Celebrity Autograph Fundraiser
Post Categories: News • By Amanda • 17 February, 2010

As many One Tree Fans know, the second annual Celebrity Autograph Fundraiser; to help support a Wilmington police officer that died in the line of duty, is being held on Saturday February 20th at Walmart in Wilmington, NC.

Locals as well as OTH fans from afar are driving or flying into town to meet their favourite cast members and support this great cause. This was a successful fundraiser last year with OTH cast members Sophia Bush, Austin Nichols, Lee Norris, Cullen Moss and Vaughn Wilson lending a few hours of their time to support a great cause.

This year, a new batch of cast members were scheduled to appear, they included Robert Buckley, Shantel VanSanten, Jana Kramer, Jackson Brundage, Antwon Tanner, Cullen Moss and Vaughn Wilson. However, it has just been officially posted on the Wilmington Police website that Robert Buckley, Jana Kramer, Shantel VanSanten and Antwon Tanner will NOT be attending. It lists “scheduling conflicts” as the reason why. Im sure there will be more details to follow and it says that they are trying to get more celebrities on board but, with such short notice … its hard to tell if anyone will be able to.

I know many fans are coming from far away for this opportunity and they will be extremely disappointed.

***UPDATE***
One of my great friends has just contacted the people who are organizing the fundraiser and they said that they received a call last night saying that Rob, Shantel and Jana now have to be in LA this weekend and can no longer attend. He thinks it has something to do with the show not receiving early renewal for Season 8, and so do I. He also said that he is working closely with a lady from One Tree Hill and they are trying to get at least two core members to stop by the fundraiser. They understand what a disappointment this is and that the fans will be very upset, especially the ones that are traveling a great distance to be there. I’ll update as I find out more information.

***NEW UPDATE***
CONFIRMED: Shantel VanSanten is back on for sure she will be there but only for one hour so get there early if you wish to meet her. JAMES LAFFERTY will also now be attending but, he can only do one hour.

Mitch Ryan, who plays Alexander McQueen will also be there. They said tomorrow they MAY have one more cast member confirm. I’ll let you know if that happens!

  • Drinkin’ with Rob Buckley
Post Categories: bethany news • By Amanda • 17 February, 2010

“One Tree Hill”’s Rob Buckley is the good-looking boy who was tossed into bed with “Grey’s Anatomy”’s Kim Raver on NBC’s “Lipstick Jungle” and who is now gracing the ladies of Tree Hill with his sexy presence on The CW.

But this kid isn’t just a pretty face. He can drink too.
Come along, via the clip below, as Buckley sucks down tequila, weighs in on his character having visions of his late wife, talks about what it’s like to simulate sex with a pregnant woman and reveals what’s coming up for Quinn and Clay.

Check out the clip below:

  • Save One Tree Hill, help bring it back for an 8th season!

Another media outlet is speaking about their local show not getting pick up by the CW for renewal. This show provides so many jobs to the town of Wilmington, NC and petitions and fan dedication have worked in the past to keep this show around and the fans will do it again! I can speak on behalf of OTH supporters.. I have had the privilege of traveling to Wilmington 3 times already, and next week will be my fourth time. I will be enduring the 16 HOUR drive to Wilmington again and I can honestly say that I would never do that for any other show. The CW needs to wake up and renew this show and if budget cuts need to be made, do it on shows like Gossip Girl and 90210 where their wardrobe probably costs more than a full production week on OTH!

“WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – It’s speculation season when it comes to your favorite tv shows. Networks are deciding which shows will get renewed and which shows will end at the conclusion of this television season.

Right now, One Tree Hill, the drama produced in Wilmington, is considered “on the fence” as to whether it will return or not for an eighth season, according to on-line blogs. Entertainment Weekly’s television reporter lists the show as “could go either way.”

Fans of the long running series aren’t waiting for a cancellation notice. An on-line petition drive is underway to convince the CW to bring the series back for an eighth season.

As of the writing of this article, a little more than 800 people signed up for the petition, which is available via the link next to this story.”

The link to the petition has been posted below in a previous post but, here it is again: please sign it!
